I just can’t comprehend why Andrej Karpathy seemingly has deleted his tweet about ‘small fraction of money’.

Nowadays services required us to pay a large amount of ‘values’, for a service that may valued only a little bit of it. Let say 1/100.

We pay $100 to get access to photo editor that we used to Access once. We paid $100 for a paywalled article, subscribing a month for an article we delighted, and no more. And so on.

We might asked, in this world which calculating a value much less effortless, implementing technology to help us calculate and be the bridge to implement ‘pay as much as you need’ might not be too much to asked.

I remembered Karpathy tweeted; we need some kind of this payment feature, to pay a little amount of value, sharing it to something that truly matters to us, or even we think we love it, and want to appreciate them for a little bit.

Maybe we want to ‘sawer’ –pay a little amount of money– the author that we find their quotes is meaningful to us. Maybe a photographer that their photo is so stunning and touching.

We have seen maybe this kind of small acts and small portion of value had already translated into some feature in some platforms.

We can give a creator a diamond or flower emoticon on tiktok or snackvideos. Then the creator can aggregate and convert them into money. This idea is worked.

But I constantly thinking how to implement this to be more platform agnostic. So we able to pay anything that we think deserves.

And also, maybe we can sell something and get paid by this a little bit portion of values. What kind of values is might be more ‘precise’.

Back to my main question. Why Andrej Karpathy deleted them? Or turned out it’s only me that failed to search and found the related tweet?

Is this idea dumb enough so the Karpathy found this is too embarrassing? Hard to implement, near utopia to implement, idk.

Or, turned out this issue is a million dollar Business, needed to be buried for now, and some limited group has already develop this quietly(?).
